Your Journey, Our Support

Your Journey, Our Support ✶

Our Approach

Mentorship

We connect youth with trained mental health ambassadors who have faced similar challenges, fostering relatable and supportive conversations. This peer-to-peer mentorship creates a safe space for individuals to share experiences and receive guidance from those who truly understand their journey.

Flexibility

We recognize that each individual's journey is unique. Our program offers adaptable participation options, allowing youth to engage at their own pace and comfort level. This ensures that support is accessible without adding pressure, accommodating their diverse commitments and personal circumstances.

Community

Through the formation of "Glad Groups," we cultivate a sense of belonging among participants. These groups facilitate the building of connections and friendships, providing familiar support networks that accompany youth throughout their mental health journeys, reinforcing that they are not alone.

Engagement

We organize enjoyable, fully subsidized outings—such as attending sporting events, visiting theme parks, and sharing meals—to connect participants in supportive settings. These activities promote social interaction and community building, allowing individuals to bond over shared experiences in relaxed environments.

How we operate

At the Glad You're Here Project, our operations are guided by four foundational pillars:

1. Empowerment

We equip high school students, college students, and young professionals with the necessary training to become mental health ambassadors. This initiative enables them to provide peer-to-peer mentorship and support, fostering a community where young individuals can connect with mentors who understand their unique challenges.

2. Connection

Our ambassadors proactively seek out and engage with individuals who may be in need of support, initiating contact to offer assistance. This approach ensures that those who may be hesitant to seek help themselves receive the guidance and companionship they need, fostering a more inviting and supportive community.

3. Support

Our community offers comprehensive guidance through various channels, including one-on-one mentorship, group interactions, and awareness initiatives. These diverse forms of support are designed to address a wide range of mental health challenges, providing participants with the resources they need to navigate their journeys.

4. Outreach

We actively engage in advocacy and awareness campaigns aimed at reducing stigma and promoting mental health education. Through organized events and activities, we strive to create an informed and supportive community that recognizes the importance of mental well-being.

Based in Minnesota

Being based in Minnesota allows us to stay deeply connected to the community we serve. We understand the unique challenges that youth in our state face, and we are committed to providing localized support that meets their specific needs. Our roots in Minnesota enable us to create meaningful partnerships with schools, colleges, and local organizations, amplifying our efforts to reach those who need guidance the most. We value this strong connection to our community, as it allows us to foster a sense of belonging and ensure that our programs are tailored to the local culture, making mental health support more accessible and relevant for Minnesota’s youth.
